I’m trying to bottle a feeling with this series: the deep nostalgia of my childhood. I spent every school holiday in the Hungarian countryside with my grandparents, which is where my deep love of baking first took root.
When I look at a dish, I don’t just see ingredients I see the warmth of my grandmother’s kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. That moody, chiaroscuro light is the same low, gentle glow that illuminated her hands as she worked the dough. It’s the feeling of absolute calm when you were so captivated by the Sunday baking, and all you saw were your grandma’s hands deftly creating magic.
Everything about the frame: the deep shadows, the selective focus, the golden crust is designed to transport you back to those delicious, untroubled hours. It’s an invitation to pause, breathe, and remember the quiet joy of a time when a slice of cake was the center of the world. Also I love to capture the movement, and I’m amazed by the beautiful togetherness of the stillness and the movement in one photo.

Like many, I turned to the kitchen when the world shut down in 2020. Since all the good shops were closed, food became my muse and I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it! My little hobby got a huge glow-up when Adobe Lightroom reached out to collaborate on their new Food Presets. Yep, my presets are now out there, helping people around the globe give their dishes that extra pop! It’s still surreal.
What started as pandemic entertainment is now a full-blown business, and I get to work with all kinds of awesome clients. I’m obsessed with the drama of moody photography and am always trying to master that dark, delicious look. That said, I’m happy to tackle any style a client throws my way I just love the challenge! My camera of choice? A trusty NIKON D750. I’m a big fan of playing with both natural window light and artificial studio flashes to make food look its absolute best.
